The most disheartening news recently was that American-born terrorists continue to plot how to wreak more havoc around the U.S. I don’t know about you, but reading those words made me realize just how far gone we are as a society. You know just how bad it’s gotten when Canada designates the Proud Boys as a terrorist group.

Have we lost our collective soul? Are we now so driven by hate and disinformation that a white supremacist group has become so mainstream that other countries tell their own citizens that the U.S is a volatile and unsafe country? Are we so disconnected from each other that we inhabit different worlds: one where QAnon conspiracies become a daily news source and one where fact-based news reigns supreme?

We need a national exorcism to rid our country of the evil demons inhabiting our hearts and minds. Does this sound dramatic? Well, it should because we are facing grave threats to our existence as a democratic union. Propaganda works. Look at how Goebbels propagated the false narrative that ethnic Germans in Poland were being discriminated against, which was patently untrue. Goebbels spread the message so often that Poland’s invasion had almost unanimous support by the German people. And we know what came next…

Fast forward to today, and we now have propaganda pushed out and paid for by the Russians, the Mercers, the Wilks, and the Bradleys (Prager U, anyone?). Disinformation has rewired people’s brains to question facts and accept an alternate reality.

All you need to do is click on over to Prager U, and you too can be lulled into thinking that climate change is not real or that democrats are socialists in disguise. Many of us have inadvertently clicked on these videos without even knowing they came from Prager U.
This is no time for complacency.

In 2022, there are many elections and issues at stake that could make or break us as a nation. Please get in the fight and find something to do every day to ensure that we elect leaders who care about our country’s future.

Be the light in the darkness.
