Governor DeSantis promised Floridians that they would get drive-thru testing, and they are getting it…in gated communities.
The University of Florida Health is setting up a COVID-19 drive-thru testing station at The Villages Polo Club near Orlando, Florida. The testing is available “for Villagers only.” It’s just for the members of this affluent 55+ community, according to the UF Health:
“Unfortunately, test kits and supplies are limited due to resource issues at the state and national levels. As a result, we can only offer a limited number of testing appointments each day and currently only to residents of The Villages.”
Residents are encouraged to arrive at the testing site in their golf carts.
What I'm getting is that if you're in wealthy retirement village, Florida will open a convenient testing center. Just take your golf cart over and get tested.
If you're not wealthy, there will be "delays" in opening a testing center in your area.
