Breitbart co-founder and former Trump strategist Steve Bannon said that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is “winning” the impeachment inquiry.
In a Sunday morning interview with radio host John Catsimatidis, Bannon stated that Pelosi “will impeach the president of the United States on two counts: one, abuse of power, the other obstruction of power.”
However, he does not agree with Pelosi. Unsurprisingly, he labelled Pelosi’s inquiry as the “most sophisticated political warfare” and “the most sophisticated political disinformation campaign.”
Despite having resigned from his position in the White House in 2017, Bannon still sides with Trump in the impeachment process. He said that he would defend Trump until the president was “acquitted.”
This still leaves the door open for rejection if Trump is found guilty, oddly enough. Perhaps the loyalty stops there.
Bannon reportedly was behind Trump’s infamous “very fine people” line after the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, in 2017. Despite the death of a counter-demonstrator, Heather Heyer, Trump insisted that there were “very fine people” on both sides.
Trump and Bannon apparently still keep in touch, despite the official separation. The former strategist recently started a new podcast called War Room: Impeachment, which he claims will give “the facts and the details of the witnesses, the testimony, the legal arguments.”
